Writing Samples

These writing samples show published work Logan Bonner created during his time at Wizards of the Coast working on Dungeons & Dragons.

Adventurer's Guide to Eberron: This book contained no game rules. It shows Logan's skill at writing prose, specifically written for a new, casual audience learning about one of the D&D game worlds.

The Slaying Stone: This sample from an adventure Logan created demonstrates the ability to construct a setup that both provides clear direction for the person running the adventure and allows for flexibility. The adventure is set up to be played in many different ways.

King of the Trollhaunt Warrens: Taken from an adventure, this excerpt shows worldbuilding skill. It describes people who live in one of the main towns of the adventure, shows extra battles the characters might fight, and contains a letter written in an in-world style.

Divine Power: Describing deities and their traits, these pages show how Logan can build connections between the world's backstory and open-ended character options.

Player's Handbook 2: Logan designed the bard class for D&D 4th Edition, and this spread shows the basic traits and mechanics of that class.

Open Grave: This monster entry contains several original designs and shows how Logan can develop a basic theme into compelling, unique monsters.
